The Little Crooked Tale Chapter Fifteen: The Tower( Part One) 30/30

So Aurora sees Maleficent. The next few pages will be a must-see. Will this scene be at all connected to the one in deviantart with Cinderella and Aurora freeing Alice?
I think I'm in love. Carpet is so pretty and exotical, I love her! BTW, I suposse Maleficent is the one who Aurora has found, since she didn't meet any other villian until now except Grimhilde, and this last one is enable to travel between worlds, am I right?
Seriously, I LOVE all the OC you're creating in this story. I also love the Disney ones of course( specially Belle, Alice and Snow White, they're my favorites), but I feel like all these new characters and their stories are fitting perfectly well with the classics, all the new ladies are so pretty and different from another. Also the gentlemen have a great design, I cannot wait for the featuring of that handsome blonde monsier and that black haired hottie! Gosh, I can't choose between them... I think I have a weird problem...
I must say, I never saw that twist with Carpet coming--and I love it! I just hope Jasmine doesn't keep calling her "Carpet" now--it would be kind of awkward. XD.
Did the magic carpet have a human form before or it's a magic consequence for standing in that place? Or maybe it's because of the glass slipper magic?
Cover very pretty but Rose Red remind me more of anime style than disney style there. i'm not sure why, but her depiction seems off compared on the cover

You two are really good writers. I've never been so worried about an OC in a facfiction before as I am now about Rose Red and this tragical cover. Your work is really amazing!
When I first saw this chapter, I couldn't help but squeal. It was a good thing nobody was around, or they would have thought I've gone nuts. I love Carpet's new design, and the look on Jasmine's face. I just wonder who Aurora saw in the castle.
I also have a few questions: Why did Quetzal help Aurora? How did Snow and Cindy end up in that dark place with Ariel and Belle? Where did Ariel get that trident? Why in the cover here is Rose Red's throat slit? Why are the villains after them, particularly the OCs? *gasp* Is the brunette from the old header Christine Daae?

Interesting new design for the chapter covers. Will you redesign the other covers so they all look the same? Or would you prefer the difference since the story is taking a turn and the characters are starting to connect. I take it that red haired silhouette is this new genie girl. Is the other one supposed to be Carmilla or Snow White? One last thing... Jasmine's my favorite and she's had less screentime so far. I'm happy we're checking on her.
About the new the design of the covers.. I changed it because the old one ''invades'' literally 60% of the illustrations... The frame was too big and it was necessary a radical change ;).The other silhouette is Carmilla ;D.
Disney never said Maleficent was a fairy, she is a dark fairy in the original fairy tale, not in Disney version. The origin of her nature is in her name and her powers. Maleficent is actually a Maleficarum. A Maleficarum is a witch who obtains her powers from Lucifer, and when she has enough experience, she turns into a demon( a dragon is a demon in Christian mythology and she attacks with fire, as the witches from christian mythology). She even threats Prince Phillip ''with all the power of hell''. SO technically, Maleficent is actually a demon who was a witch before :D. If you are interested on this, I recommend you to read the book ''Malleus maleficarum''. It explains how a witch turns herself into animals and even dragons, her rituals, the nature of her powers... Just look at her physical appearance... She is more a dragon than a woman. There are many Maleficarum in movies en videogame, like Flemeth from Dragon Age or Madame Mim from the sword and the stone.
And about ursula, She was exactly as Vannessa with a fishtail :D.
The live action is a story completely different from the original one, and totally incompatible with the original animated classic. Please... in the live Maleficent wakes Aurora with a true love kiss... the original Maleficent never would do that, she hates Aurora, she even laughed when she was apparently dead in the floor... The live version is a completely different story, something ''alternative'', not consecutive to the animated classic.

Y la piel morada le keda genial. x cierto, en comentarios anteriores vi k dijisteis k ibais a poner a Tiana en el comic. k alegría me llevé al leerlo ya que es mi princesa favorita, pero dijisteis k le ibais a hacer un cambio como hicisteis con Wendy. bueno algo así lei. fue hace tiempo. en caso d k le vayáis a hacer un cambio, será de otra época como a Wendy u otra cosa?? y saldrá pronto o habrá k esperar? x cierto, vais a añadir algún personaje español?? como dijisteis que iba a haber multiculturalidad y como soy española me entro curiosidad. por cierto, me encanta el comic. el dibujo es precioso y me encanta la textura, los personajes, los diseños, todo. sobre todo me gusta k no sea un comic corto, sino uno largo, con más de 50 capítulos. espero k pronto sakeis el comic en papel. un saludo
Si, saldra Tiana, pero en otra epoca y con una historia fiel a su cuento original :D. SI añadiremos a un par de personajes españoles, uno de ellos sera la sevillana Carmen, protagonista de la opera de Georges Bizet :D.Nos gustaria sacar el comic pronto, p'ero hay mucho que remakear del capitulo 12 para abajo (nos moririamos de verguenza de sacar el comic yal y como ahora esta). Haremos que sea lo mas barato posible, ya que no queremos sacarle ningun tipo de beneficio economico al comic, ya que lo hacemos solo por diversion y sin animo de lucro ;D. Postdata: La proxima vez comenta en el capitulo en español por favor ;).
Wow... Carpet look really beautiful as a human... Though I always imagined it her as a male carpet. xD And Maleficent's back! Yay! I feel like we're going to discover her backstory. I can't wait to see what happen next. :3
I always thought the carpet was a female carpet, In my opinion it moves very gracefully to be a male one :D. You will know more about Maleficent very soon :D.
Maybe I believed that Aladdin's Carpet is a male because in my language when we say "that carpet" we use masculine pronoun instead of feminine. ^^ Also Carpet kissed Jasmine's hand like a gentleman in the movie. xD
I'm glad. I remember as a kid I was so much scared of Maleficent I couldn't even watch Sleeping Beauty... Now she's one of my favourite villains. <3
I see! In spanish the word carpet (alfombra) is a female name, anyway, a carpet is a carpet, it has no gender, just dust mites xD. I was really scared of Maleficent too when i was a child... she scared me more than Freddy Crugger and Candyman xD.

I am so excited for the next pages...Maleficent is revealing something important!! One question though, why is Maleficent's face so green. It was lighter in earlier chapters and the movie with a very light green shade, almost gray.
Does Berthalda have any powers? Besides being a bitch of course lol. Also is she of royal blood, or really a pauper raised in nobility like in the play?
Berthalda is the foster daughter of a powerful duke and his duchess but the real daughter of Undine’s foster parents, who lost her shortly before Undine came to them.

She's not really kind she's sarcastic. Also, she is still manipulating her and sending away from her home, so her acting is not really that nice. And of course, there's a reason behind his behavior ;)
It's not really a change. Until now, Maleficent hasn't taken reprisals directly against Aurora. She did it through Philip. Maleficent is a cold and calculating character and everything she does what she does for a reason. Besides, she's not being nice, she's being sarcastic to Aurora :).
If I'm right about these voices, then our little Sleeping Beauty wasn't that innocent after all XD. Perhaps and extra-marital affair? Everything could had happened in those lost 16th years. I love all the plot-twists!!!! This is the less predictible story I have ever read!!!!!
Is Phillip's father a voice lamenting losing his son. Who is this queen and her lover? What son...is Aurora pregnant? We know she has descendants so somehow she has children.

Great as always, love Carpet's design especially! Also, what do you think of the live-action Cinderella? As far as I can tell, I like it better than Maleficent.. Buuuut nothing new.
We don't like the new Cinderella movie. :(. It's better than Maleficent but honestly, I think it's impossible making an adaptation of a classic disney movie worse than ''Maleficent'' xD.

Berthalda is half-breed( her mother was mongolian and her father was Russian). She is a strange breed who emerged when Mongolia was invading Russia in 1237 in some specifics points of Europe ;). About japanese characters, Madame Butterfly will appear in this comic ;).
Finally this man is back!! :DDD He's so sexy ^//////^ Gosh I hope he stays in the scene a little longer instead of dissapear after he gave some homicidal advice to somebody :o
Calypso, like THE Calypso, the godess from the Odyssey and former lover of Odysseus? Or its just a random name BTW I love opera so the fact that Carmen and Cio-Cio Sam are appearin really thrilles me!!! Are other opera and ballet chracters going to appear, how will you be connecting their stories wih disney?
About Calypso, she has nothing to do with the mythological character from the Odyssey. ;).Many characters will appear from Ballet, opera and classics from literature. Even some forgotten Disney characters who most of you cannot imagine ;D.

Is he Argus? He looks evil O.O I thought you weren't putting mitologycal characters, but after Bastet and now Calypso (I think she was a witch in an island). At first I thought Calypso could be the real name of Carpet

I'm fairly sure he will become a lover interest to Aurora. The fact that Philip is dead (and he is never coming back) means she will find someone else eventually. Especially since we know she has descendants (like princess eilonwy) So I have two theories, either Aurora is already pregnant with Philip's child or she eventually marries Argus (the raven haired guy) and has kids with him :P
It's going to break my heart if Aurora ends up with any other guy. I can't see her with anyone else except Philip. I hope he comes back somehow! Leave me to my denial! Btw doe Aurora ever actually refer to herself as Aurora? Or does she not care for the name and stuck with Rose?
Sorry to say this but Phillip is dead, he is not going to resurrect or something like that... When someone dies in this comic, dies forever :(. About Argus, he told Aurora that he is already in love with another woman ;). Anyway, I think Aurora deserves to rebuild her life with somebody else :).

The colours in the Sleeping Beauty are generally darker than the other Disney movies ;D.

ReplyDeleteIt's not really a change. Until now, Maleficent hasn't taken reprisals directly against Aurora. She did it through Philip. Maleficent is a cold and calculating character and everything she does what she does for a reason. Besides, she's not being nice, she's being sarcastic to Aurora :).

DeleteIf I'm right about these voices, then our little Sleeping Beauty wasn't that innocent after all XD. Perhaps and extra-marital affair? Everything could had happened in those lost 16th years. I love all the plot-twists!!!! This is the less predictible story I have ever read!!!!!

DeleteIs Phillip's father a voice lamenting losing his son. Who is this queen and her lover? What son...is Aurora pregnant? We know she has descendants so somehow she has children.
ReplyDeleteThe voices are talking about two different kids, and none of them have a connection with Aurora. That's all I can say :)

Or maybe is the shading which makes you see her different. Respect her skin tone, there's a strong green light in the room as you can see in the previous pages. In another circumstances with a neutral light she will look less green :)

We don't like the new Cinderella movie. :(. It's better than Maleficent but honestly, I think it's impossible making an adaptation of a classic disney movie worse than ''Maleficent'' xD.

DeleteBerthalda is half-breed( her mother was mongolian and her father was Russian). She is a strange breed who emerged when Mongolia was invading Russia in 1237 in some specifics points of Europe ;). About japanese characters, Madame Butterfly will appear in this comic ;).

About Calypso, she has nothing to do with the mythological character from the Odyssey. ;).Many characters will appear from Ballet, opera and classics from literature. Even some forgotten Disney characters who most of you cannot imagine ;D.

ReplyDeleteI'm fairly sure he will become a lover interest to Aurora. The fact that Philip is dead (and he is never coming back) means she will find someone else eventually. Especially since we know she has descendants (like princess eilonwy) So I have two theories, either Aurora is already pregnant with Philip's child or she eventually marries Argus (the raven haired guy) and has kids with him :P
